Apurba Nandi

Apurba Nandi was born in 1973. He completed his B.F.A. in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University of Baroda in 1998, and his M.F.A. in Sculpture in 2000.

The artist has held several solo and group shows both in India and abroad. He has also participated in camps and workshops and is the recipient of the National Scholarship in 2003 from the Department of Culture of the Government of India.

Apurba Nandi explores the interrelationship of elements that are encountered in the mundane, and the interdependency that exists at the core of relationships. His visual language comprises of juxtaposing elements and creating contrived and unconvincing situations, which generates new and uncomfortable meanings from the proximity of varied images.

The artist lives and works in Baroda.
