A tradition that is rich in colours. A heritage that is as old as humanity. In a way the history of Indian art is also the history of our civilization, which has an all-embracing sensibility.

Be it the ancient cave paintings or the post-modern forms and formlessness, an undercurrent of diversity is more than visible in the horizons of Indian art. From figuration to abstraction and from realism to hyperrealism, whatever styles emerged over the ages have their root in our own soil. It is that power and diversity that helped Indian art reap its rich harvest in a variety of flavours, tastes and tones.
