Raghava K K

Raghava K.K., at the age of 27, is one of India's most celebrated emerging artists, with close to a thousand newspaper and twenty television / radio appearances. Since 2000 when actor and social activist Shabana Azmi launched his first show in Bangalore, Raghava has held more than 20 solo shows and has participated in numerous Group exhibitions.

His work has been auctioned by the Queen's Museum, New York and by Christie's, New York (curated by the Indo American Arts Council). He was recently awarded a prestigious grant by the American India Foundation, through which he premiered his 'Anthropomorphism: When Paintings Dance' performance art piece in California at an evening hosted by art patron Ann Getty. In 2004, the Robin Hood Foundation awarded him a grant with which to create artwork and design a children's library based upon his artwork in New York City.

Raghava dedicated the year 2006 and 2007 to expanding his horizons through collaboration with artists from various fields. With the support of master artists such as Farid Belkahia (Morocco) and Luigi Ontani (Italy), Raghava has traveled to and shown his work in more than 15 countries. Raghava represents a unique figure in contemporary art --- a youthful artist with the capacity to express the spirit of today's globalized world.

Raghava lives and works in New York.
