DHRUBAJYOTI  BARAL

Dhrubajyoti graduated with a B F A and a M F A from the University of Kolkota. He was a recipient of the Ratin Mitra Award in 2003 and the Rabindranath Tagore Award in 2005.In 2005 he was invited to exhibit at the Harmony Show and at the 8th Elephant Gallery in New York. Dhrubajyoti's meticulously done paintings display a talent that is extraordinary and has captured the very essence of the subjects that he has painted. He dips into Indian folklore and into contemporary art from Bengal for his inspiration. His vibrant colours are achieved through the medium of tempera. The nuances of tone and the texturing of the layers enhance the viewing pleasure. He lives and works in Bangalore.
