Shridhar Iyer is one of the leading abstract artists in India. Working out of Bhopal and his close proximity to the great artist J. Swaminathan allowed him to explore free thought at a spiritual level. This painting is from his earlier searching for roots and for harmony of colour and form. More structured than his current artwork, it nevertheless affords a window into his artistic path and practice.
